Simulacra

2023

Simulacrum is a p5.js project built on glitch.com using the 4Chan web API. Simulacrum is an offensive satire, a meta-commentary on the current state of the internet. Simulacrum is the midpoint between the real and the hyperreal. Simulacrum stands as a somewhat comedic, somewhat bleak representation of the internet and showcases what a world where we are constantly interconnected, constantly sharing, and constantly exposed looks like.

Remedify

2022

Remedify is an interactive web-based platform that is marketed as a digital therapist, using highly advanced technology to help address mental health issues in its user. This project explores my concerns over using simplistic algorithms to solve complex mental health issues, many times the solutions feel inauthentic and lack an understanding of the core issue. The project is an interactive experience where the user is introduced to a program that claims to be able to solve their problems, but the more the user interacts with it, the program begins to fall apart and show the flaws of merging technology with humanity.

Fragmented Memories

2022

I created a drawing machine inspired by the sensation of remembering, memories are not crystal clear but more so an obscure recollection of the sensation of the events. I created randomized movements for a group of agents to create a kaleidescopic effect with the colpurs sampled from various images of my childhood. Another important aspect to me was the progression of the image. Instead of agents being deleted over time so the image stays relatively clear, I left them piling up onto each other. This was inspired by the idea that every time we remember something we are remembering the last time we remembered that event, not the original event itself. The idea is that the longer we spend thinking about a memory, that is the more times it is revisited, it loses a lot of its original substance. As the program runs unchanged the colours start to shift from their original position in the image as agents move around one another and overlap.

Cosmic Catastrophe

2021

My First p5.js project, for a computational arts course I took in my first year. A simple space shooter game.
